The air is getting crisp and the leaves are the color of mother nature’s sun when it sets. The beauty of Fall is that it’s not freezing cold or burning up hot. The temperature feels just right for cozy sweaters, boots, tall socks, long scarves. You get the picture!
One trend that I’ve been loving this season is the sweater dress (loose, not super tight) and tall boots. The look is perfect for the girls who brunch, a weeknight date or weekend out with the girls. It’s sexy but doesn’t look like you are trying too hard.
Summer is approaching and I am delighted by the warmer weather and longer days. Finally time for me to break out the loafers and sandals, white tees, sunglasses and pretty accessories. There are some staples that I believe in when it comes to the Summer wardrobe. Anything white and light denim livens up any Summer outfit. It spells cool and breezy. I am a tried and true New Yorker and my uniform is all black and grey in the Winter but I keep the Black to a minimum when it comes to the Summer dressing. Here is a look at some of the things I love and keep in constant rotation for the Summer.
We were expecting the mother of all blizzards, instead it was just a regular snow day in New York City. I am relieved because I am not prepared nor do I want to be bothered by the catastrophe that Juno, nickname for said blizzard, would have caused. The white powdery stuff is no friend of mine but is a beloved member of Winter for my 10-year-old. She loves laying in it, rolling around in it, making snow angels…you get the picture. I want no parts of it. The sand is more of a great friend of mine.
I struggle when wearing high heels! I practice walking in them, well not really, and yet I still look like I have two left feet when I’m stomping in stilettos. I do myself and everyone around me a favor and avoid high heels. There is nothing worse, to me, than a woman walking unsteady in heels. Throw those heels out and reach for these classic flats. I’ve compiled a list of some of my favorite designers/stores that carry well made and classic flats.
There is nothing like a classic ballet flat to class up an outfit. I find it very Parisian chic. Ballet flats transcends time and trends.
My very favorite “go-to” flat is the Reva by Tory Burch. The gold insignia draws the eye directly to these classics. http://www.toryburch.com.
Sam Edelman creates the most comfortable and lightweight leather flats. They feel like air on your feet. These are as great as any running shoes only cuter. http://www.samedelman.com.
Vince Camuto has also become a fantastic resource for me as far as choosing the perfect pair of flats. This brand is classic yet edgy. There is a real city edge and feel that I absolutely love about Vince Camuto. The affordable prices are just the icing on the cake. http://www.vincecamuto.com.
Last, but certainly not least, is our favorite superstore, Target. This is where I get my eggs, bread and some shoes all in the same visit. Don’t judge me. Lol. Target has the greatest selection of flats during the Spring and the prices are phenomenal! the styles are always on trend yet there are always classic colors like black, blush and an animal print. http://www.target.com.
